Getting started

What PiSky is, what hardware you need, and how to get a station up and running end to end.

PiSky turns a Raspberry Pi into a shareable local view of the sky. Camera, Weather and Aircraft are independent capabilities — run any one of them, or any combination.

PiSky includes an Allsky-based camera capability, Open-Meteo and WeeWX weather integration, and local RTL-SDR or Mode-S Beast GPS ADS-B aircraft tracking. It adds a liquid-glass administration dashboard, capability-aware public pages, and normalized local data endpoints on top of the underlying Allsky camera project.

After installation, / is the public observatory and /admin/ is the authenticated control interface.
