Licensing & attribution

PiSky is built on Allsky and several other open-source projects — full attribution here.

PiSky is an open-source interface and integration layer. PiSky design, weather integration and project direction are Copyright © David Gilbert. PiSky is based on the Allsky camera project — Allsky's authorship, copyright notices, commit history and license terms remain in place, and PiSky does not claim authorship of the underlying capture system.

  • Allsky carries the MIT License, including the original Copyright © Thomas Jacquin notice. Its WebUI also includes GPL-3.0-licensed code derived from RaspAP.
  • WeeWX is an optional external weather-station provider, Copyright © Thomas Keffer, Matthew Wall and Gary Roderick, distributed under GPL-3.0. PiSky does not vendor or modify WeeWX source; its JSON event service is original interoperability code.
  • The guided network-station presets install a pinned revision of Matthew Wall's weewx-interceptor extension (GPL-3.0), downloaded at install time and not vendored into PiSky.
  • Open-Meteo is an optional hosted weather-data provider; its data must be attributed to Open-Meteo and its upstream providers under CC BY 4.0.
  • PiSky can install Debian's dump1090-mutability or read the local JSON output of dump1090-fa and readsb, without vendoring those decoders. PiAware is a FlightAware project under BSD-2-Clause.
  • For Mode-S Beast receivers, the installer builds a pinned revision of FlightAware's beast-splitter (BSD-2-Clause), not vendored into PiSky.
  • FlightAware and Flightradar24 are optional external data-sharing destinations. PiSky does not access, reproduce or resell either service's global flight data, and does not bundle their upload clients.

The PiSky name and branding are project identifiers only — they don't imply endorsement by the Allsky or WeeWX maintainers, FlightAware, or Flightradar24.
